Kimberly Finney Architect, LLC was established in 2006 to provide full architectural services to both commercial and residential clients. Our firm specializes in modular construction, single-family and multifamily residential, institutional, commercial and hospitality construction as well as planning, historic restoration and tax credits.
KFA is the husband and wife partnership of Kimberly Finney and Alex Modinger. Kimberly has extensive experience with new construction and renovation projects ranging from residential to institutional, including historic restoration and renovation projects. For more than twelve years in her career as an architect, Kimberly has earned and maintained a reputation for building cooperative relationships between owners, contractors, and consultants that have resulted in the successful completion of a wide variety of construction projects.
Kimberly is a licensed architect in good standing in the state of Louisiana and a national, state, and local member of the American Institute of Architects. She holds both a Master of Architecture I and a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans, where she has lived and worked for the past twelve years. Kimberly is also a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED-AP).
Alex Modinger is a licensed architect in good standing in the state of Louisiana with over fourteen years of experience as an architect focusing on single-family and multi-family residential construction as well as hospitality and hotel construction. A heavy emphasis of his experience addresses historic rehabilitation and the rehabilitation tax credit process. His recent efforts have included development of single-family residential projects including a special focus on development in historic neighborhoods in New Orleans. Alex is active in community organizations where he has participated in the preservation and zoning issues of one of New Orleans most historic neighborhoods. His architectural design work, both historic and modern, has been recognized by both local historic agencies as well as national design publications.
Alex holds a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Management and Finance from the A. B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, as well as a Master of Architecture I and a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans, where he was born and raised. Alex is also a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED-AP).
